How to Use
Four-Tip Pick-Up Frame
- Stand upright within the rear half of the frame.
- Lift the frame a short distance.
- Place all four tips firmly on the floor.
- Step forward with the weaker or affected leg.
- Step forward with the stronger leg.
- Repeat without stepping too close to the front bar.
Front-Wheeled Frame
- Keep all legs in contact with the floor as instructed.
- Push or glide the frame a short distance.
- Stop the frame.
- Step forward with the weaker or affected leg.
- Step forward with the stronger leg.
- Keep the body within the frame.
Turning
- Use small steps
- Keep the frame close
- Avoid twisting
- Do not pivot sharply inside the frame
- Lift or reposition the frame as prescribed
- Allow enough space before starting the turn
Sitting Down
- Approach the chair.
- Turn using small steps.
- Back up until the legs touch the seat.
- Keep the frame close but do not pull on it.
- Reach for the chair arms.
- Sit in a controlled manner.
Standing Up
- Move forward on the chair.
- Position both feet.
- Push from the chair arms.
- Stand and gain balance.
- Take hold of the frame.
- Do not pull up on an unsecured frame.
Safety Issues
